Hinduietz won the Jolly Stars “Twenty 20″

The annual Jolly Stars Twenty 20 was well organised by the Jaffna Hindu College Old boys Charity Trust. Most attractive cricket ground in Britain – Winchmore Hill Cricket Club was the battleground for 8 leading Schools.

Batticaloa District , Colombu Hindu College, Jaffna St Johns College, Jaffna St Patricks College,  Jaffna Central College,  Jaffna  Hindu college,  Vavuniya District and Yarl Islanders were the participating teams. In a nail biting final match Colombo Hindu won Jaffna Hindu college to crown as this year’s Champions’.

Cricket team conveyed a thanking message to all its supporters and members.

Obituary : Mrs Rajeswari Devarajah

Before healing from the news of Sundaramoorthy teacher’s death, we have lost another Science teacher. Over the weekend it has been informed that Devarajah teacher also passed away. Here is the copy of the obituary notice from a local newspaper

DEVARAJAH – MRS RAJESWARI (Retired teacher of Jaffna College, Vaddukoddai and Colombo Hindu College Bambalapitiya), darling wife of Lloyd Rajaratnam Devarajah (Ex Journalist Times of Ceylon Group of News Papers), daughter of late Rajaratnam Mylvaganam (retired Mechanical Engineer Malayan Railways) and late Mrs Rosalind Sugirtharathnam Mylvaganam of Kaddudai, Manipay and sister-in-law of Milroy Selvarajah, Richard Dharmarajah (Canada), Mrs Barton Mather (Canada), Alexander Rajaratnam (Canada), Dr Henry Rajaratnam, Noel Rajaratnam (UK) and William Rajaratnam (Expired). Body lying at Jayaratna Funeral Parlour from 9 a.m. Saturday for Burial at General Cemetery Kanatta on Sunday 2nd October at 11 a.m.

Big Match between Colombo Hindu College and Jaffna Hindu College.

After 22 years both colleges tested their cricketing talents on 16th of October 2005 in Colombo. Colombo Hindu College came on top by beating Jaffna Hindu College by 91 runs. It is worth noting that Colombo Hindu College Past Pupils Association (UK) are the sponsors of the Colombo Hindu College Cricket training program.
